Pegatron Unveils Private 5G Network Innovations at MWC 2025
Barcelona, Tuesday, 4 March 2025.
At MWC 2025, Pegatron and industry partners enhance private 5G networks for better security and efficiency, showcasing significant optimizations that redefine enterprise connectivity solutions.
Revolutionary RedCap Solutions
At MWC 2025, Pegatron 5G demonstrated groundbreaking end-to-end RedCap network capabilities featuring the innovative ‘Muscat’ 5G camera and ‘MD200’ 5G dongle, both powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X35 Modem-RF System [1]. This advancement represents a crucial step in making advanced 5G capabilities more accessible to enterprise customers, as noted by Gautam Sheoran, Vice President at Qualcomm Technologies [2].
Enhanced Low-Latency Performance
The company showcased a live low-latency 5G network utilizing ORAN network topology, featuring the proprietary ‘Themis’ scheduler developed by Pegatron 5G [1]. This demonstration, conducted in collaboration with VIAVI, incorporated advanced optimization features including frame structure optimization and TTI Merging [2]. According to David Hoelscher, VP at Pegatron 5G, this collaboration with industry partners Radisys, Metanoia, and VIAVI specifically targets industrial applications requiring minimal latency [3].
Industrial Integration Breakthrough
A significant advancement in industrial connectivity was demonstrated through the live Layer 2 PDU transport over 5G, showcasing wireless transmission of the PROFINET Industrial Ethernet protocol using HMS Networks Anybus Communicator [4]. The PNW-2400 Network-in-Radio device, combining Pegatron’s PS2400 integrated Small-Cell-Radio-Chassis with Radisys’ optimized 5G core, powered by NXP’s LX2160A 16-Core NPU, represents a major step forward in industrial network optimization [1].
Testing and Validation Excellence
Rohde & Schwarz and Pegatron 5G unveiled a revolutionary O-RU test solution based on the PVT360A performance vector tester [5]. This advanced testing platform features a new high-power option delivering maximum output power of 20 dBm RMS and extends frequency range beyond 8 GHz, making it ideal for upcoming FR3 frequency band deployments [6]. The solution demonstrated at MWC 2025 validates Pegatron’s PR1450 O-RU, which supports 2CA and URLLC mini-slot capabilities while offering IP50 ingress protection [5].
